Samsung Evo 850 SSD not detected by macbook

Hi All,

I just bought a Samsung EVO 850 (500GB) SSD to change out my aging HDD in my Macbook Pro. I tried connecting the SSD using Seagate GoFlex Agent Free adapter, but my mac seem to be unable to detect the SSD.
Any help and advice are greatly appreciated

whats the year/exact model information of your macbook. Macbooks above a certain year cannot work with external ssds (apple did this on purpose).

Early 2011 model.. I manage to solve it by using a adaptor with additional power input.
