Hi there, i am looking for a solution to my cloning problem.
Hardware:
Asus ROG G551JM
Add-on: Samsung Evo 850 250gb
Primary HDD was 750gb, split in c: 250gb and d: 450-ish. I replaced my optical drive with the SSD in a Caddy adapter. The SSD came with samsung migration software for cloning. It detected on its own the system drive C: and gave me the option to clone it, without having to clone D: aswell.
The SSD was placed and shows up as E: drive. Cloning was done and i set boot order to start on E: and it works rather well.
Issue:
some windows functions dont work, as follows:
- windows app store doesnt work, just goes to a blank blue screen, which i can alt tab from
- ocasional windows explorer shutdowns and fast relaunch.
- minimizing of apps/games which indicates a process going over and beeing quickly closed
- some programs dont work (ex autoCAD)
- some games do WORK
Could it be that there is some registry files that are linked to the old C: drive? and that could be the case which leads to this issues? is there a way to sort things out so i dont have to reinstall windows?
