I had a Samsung Evo 850 500GB SSD installed in my Asus X555LJ laptop with Windows 10 installed in that SSD. Unfortunately a lightening strike damaged that laptop and the technician confirmed that the processor is damaged and whole motherboard should be repaired. Until that time I wanted to use that SSD with my 8 years old HP Compaq 6530s laptop (which also runs Windows 10) with help of external enclosure. I can access all the files in the SSD when I connected it to my Asus O'play mini media player so it hasn't damaged by lightening. But when I connected to the PC via the same enclosure it is a different story. I can't see the SSD in my computer. But I can see it with all the volumes in disk management tool. Samsung Magician also recognizes that the SSD is connected but it doesn't show any volumes in it. How can I correct this problem?

Thank you.

Solution
When you access Disk Management with the SSD connected as a USB external drive...ensure that drive letters have been assigned to the SSD's volumes. If not, then use DM to do so.
