So I accidentally hit my restart button on my pc while in the sign in screen where I input my password, and when it restarted, it told me windows didn't boot up correctly, so it had me restart again. Now my Samsung EVO 970 SSD (a NVMe M.2) won't read anymore. It doesn't show up in the Disk Partition, File Explorer, or even the BIOS. I've tried reinstalling my SSD, I tried resetting my BIOS settings to Defaults, and I've tried resetting my CMOS. None of it has worked. I also want to add that it's not my boot drive, and was working just fine before

First of all, what was the SSD used for. How much time you had it installed and utilized it in your PC. I would suggest you to check your data storage devices like SSD or HDD in Open Hardware Info. This happened to me too. When I sent mine SN550 500GB SSD to manufacturer for RMA they said that it was heavily used and the life of the controller was too low to even get recognized in their Data Recovery process. I purchased it from Amazon from a seller and it was not even refurbished SSD it was sold as a new SSD at the same MRP given by other sellers too. It might had got bugged or in worst case scenario it might be dead.
By resetting did you remove the CMOS battery from motherboard while system was disconnected from the wall and display? As for the SSD, does the SSD show up in BIOS? Can you drop it into a donor system and see if the SSD is recognized in BIOS and you can boot off of it? You could try and use Samsung's Magician app to see if it shows up there(and in the process, if it's pending any firmware updates). BIOS version for your motherboard? Speaking of motherboard's, what is the make and model of your motherboard?

My motherboard is an ASUS TUF Gaming B550M-Plus. No, it does not show up in bios. Yes I removed the battery while the system was unplugged. My BIOS is American Megatrends, Inc. 0803, SMBIOS version 3.2. I'll try the Samsung app. EDIT: It does not show up on the Samsung app and I don't have a donor system. I HAVE tested it on my other NVME slot, but same result. I also noticed that in other devices device manager the only thing there is PCI Encryption/Decryption Controller. Would that have something to do with it?

It wasn't used for much. Mostly online video games like Overwatch. It stored my highlight videos and those online games, but that was about it. I also got it brand new as a gift for my birthday, and it was working just fine until now. PCI Encryption/Decryption Controller is just used to allow users for secure data storage and they are used to allot PCIe Lanes to PCIe slots on mobos. It is just like HDCP for Graphics card but used for data encryption and user safety

It looks like some kind of mechanical damage to the SSD, so I advise you to contact a specialist who will help you extract the data you need from the media. If you manage to start the disk yourself, then you can use special software to recover the data.
