Question Samsung evo plus 970 dead?

Upon startup i received the smart warning of a eminent hard drive failure.
Windows will not attempt to boot.
Chkdsk show errors but any repair attempt fails as drive is read only.
Several different attempts to clear the read only (all from cmd or regedit) fail.
System restore attempts fail.
Windows installer can't clear the partitions.
Several other things I can't recall all fail.
The bios sees the drive but won't give me a reason for the smart warning.
Also the drive seams to be way fuller than last I checked it (not enough space to install windows.

For all it matters my daughter installed some game from steam and the next morning this all happened.

Any likely causes or last ditch restoration ideas appreciated.

Run CrystalDiskInfo against the drive.

Examine the Available Spares (Percent) and Media and Data Integrity attributes.

I suspect that the drive may be affected by bad sectors. When it runs out of spare sectors, it drops back to read-only mode. Time to backup if you haven't already done so.

Is it still under the 5 year warranty?
Does Samsung Magician report anything different? (probably no, because the system won't boot up)

I plan to run it when I get a new drive and have the time to get it back up and running. I'm interested to see what it says. Thank you.
