Samsung external to internal, will it work?

My external hard drive that held all of my sensitive data (until today) has a major power cable problem... the inside of the internal case broke.
So I opened it up and found that inside it is a:

Would I be okay to stick this inside my computer with a SATA cable and a 8pin power connector?

should be ok. Remember to power down computer before plugging the hard drive. I've seen people do otherwise and destroy the hd.

External hard drives are usually the same things as internal ones, but with the outer cover being just a platform for aesthetics and a ubs interface.
