FreeSync problem

We were going to buy a Samsung 24" F390F or F396F, nice specs, recommended as best budget gaming monitor with curved screen, all very nice, including freesync.

Good reviews, but mostly on the 390 from 2017. One youtube review mentioned that if you have a NVIDEA card, you are out of luck, no FreeSync, because the monitor only has HDMI and DVI ports, and NVIDEA needs the Display Port cable for FreeSync.

Do I miss something or is this really correct, in which case the Samsung should not be advertised as such without mentioning that it does not work with NVIDEA GPU.

Our build will be Ryzen 5 3600, with a Asus Dual GTX 1660s Evo GPU. Can we somehow make this work, or is freesync not important with this rig, or is the monitor unusable for our purpose.

Since the specs don't specifically mention NVIDEA or AMD gpu compatible, I can end up buing a very nice monitor, only to find out that the thing does not communicate as should be with my GPU????
