Samsung G2 500GB Portable HDD

Hello everyone
I'm new to this Forum
I have a Problem related to my Samsung 500GB G2 Portable HDD
When I connect it to my PC,the PC shows an error massage that the PC can't open it.... 🙁 🙁 it says If I wan't to open it,I have to formate it 🙁

If I format it,Can I get it's data back?????
what I have to do to solve this problem???
I want that data too much.... Please help me buddys...

Hey there, Praveen.

Don't format the drive, because this is data destructive and would make it harder for you to recover any of your files. Did you have any issues with the drive prior to this problem? Any unusual sounds/noises, slow transfer speed etc? I'd recommend that you try the drive with a different USB cable and a different computer if possible, to see if the same thing happens. If you can get the drive to be recognized this way, try accessing it via Ubuntu Live USB/DVD, to see if it's properly recognized and if you can get to your data, or try with data recovery software: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1644496/lost-data-recovery.html. Another option would be, a professional solution, such as a data recovery company.
