At home we have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and a Google Nexus 5. We both connect to the same wireless network broadcasted by a EnGenius 2.4GHz Wireless-N Multi-Functional AP.
The Note 3 has problems in connecting to the wireless network. For example
I tried to optimize the channel selection on the router using inSSIDer. inSSIDer suggested to use channel 6, which indeed seemed to improve the signal strength to the Note 3 the most (I have compared using channel 6 to using other channels). See this figure.
When I examine the settings on the router a bit more, I stumble upon the client list. All three devices in the list are in the same location. I am not completely sure what the Signal(%) column measures, but it seems to be at least some sort of measure for signal strength. What is interesting, is that the laptop and Nexus 5 have a comparable signal strength and that the Note 3 is performing far worse.
In the end, my question is, would anyone know what causes the Note 3 to have such a bad signal strength, while other devices do not seem to have any problems connecting? I hope this is the correct place to ask such a question. Thanks a lot in advance.

1. If I keep the phones together, the Note 3 will always have a weaker signal strength than the signal strength of the connection between the router and the Nexus 5.
2. In certain locations of the house, the Note 3 has no connection, whereas the Nexus 5 does have a connection (think 2 or 3 bars out of the possible 5 bars).
