No surprise here. Along with at least 2 other Android phones today, it is the best smart phone yet, and I don't see iCrap surpassing it in quality anytime soon, even after the release of their formorons iPhone 5 prison and its magical 4 inch screen!

[citation][nom]plekter[/nom]Only thing I don't like about S3 is the size.[/citation]
id have to go with : TouchWiz 😀

isheep will jealous. lol

I own a phone from

Nokia3210 - Nokia8310 - SonyEricsonK310 - HTC Touch Pro[Raphael] (May2009) - Samsung Galaxy S1 (Oct2010) - Samsung Galaxy S3 (Aug2012)

Nokia - Good quality but when you want to join Android?
Sony - not bad good in music/sound
HTC - Will never buy them again.
Samsung - Hire more people to update/upgrade software to the latest. TQ

[citation][nom]boyabunda[/nom]Based on its shape, S3 will not face Apple's lawsuit barrage -- but on its success, yes.[/citation]

Think again... lol It's already been listed for infringing something in an up and coming case. Apple is really afraid of Samsung. That's for sure.

I don't mind stories like this but what would really make the report better is if the reporter done some research and put in some numbers from other manufacturers (Nokia, Sony, HTC, Apple etc) so we have a basis of comparison.

Hey, don't speak in bad ways of the iPhone5... It may not be out yet but it is and AMAZING and REVOLUTIONARY device that will make people's lives better and the screen is just unbelievable. I haven't seen it but we all know so. The only thing the iPhone5 will lack is Steve Jobs keynote and maybe my own purchase because I switched to SGS3 and I'm not looking back into Apple devices anytime soon!

Apple is like the big fat bully in school that uses its size to terrorize smaller kids.

But when these kids grow up.. Apple realises that they are not immune anymore and that these 'kids' can punch back hard.

Your money that you 'bullied' out from the iSheeps won't help in the face of REAL innovation, Apple.

iPhone 5 sales are expected to reach 10 million units in its launch weekend sales, and 50 million by quarter's end.

Meanwhile China will ramp-up Samsung Galaxy clones:

Though the Lumia line has seen limited success,

There, fixed it... .3% market share share of Lumia 900/800 in a year is... not... success.

20 million Galaxy III phones...
This is why we should call bullshit on Apple. Its not until Sept, about 4 months after its release - that Apple finds that the SGS3 has "copied" the rectangle with curved corners?! Somehow, again.

This article goes over the design of the S3 that is far-away from iPhone as much as possible: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/05/04/the-samsung-galaxy-s-iii-the-first-smartphone-designed-entirely-by-lawyers/

So... when does Apple start suing Apple farmers for making fruit called "apples" as well as the shape?

Had this basic arguement with my dad. He tried to say it doesn't matter that the S3 is smoking the Iphone in every respect and that the Iphone is the best selling phone because it is the best on the market. Trying to argue that most Apple users are sheep and that the Iphone was marketed to douchebags didn't work. Oh well I KNOW my phone is a better product period and if Apple is simply a better marketing machine so be it. I think at the end of the day your average user will keep buying Apple no matter how expensive they get since they are the in thing right now.

The Galaxy S3 Clone phone goes for only $180... a much better bargain than the real thing. Its only a slightly slower screen with Android 2.3, single-core 1ghz CPU, 480 x 840 screen, a bit thicker, gorilla glass is over-rated.

[citation][nom]overclockingrocks[/nom]I think at the end of the day your average user will keep buying Apple no matter how expensive they get since they are the in thing right now.[/citation] The iPhone doesn't costs any more than a top end android phone... Both are $200. The iPhone isn't a mid-range quality product. The $100 iPhone4 (non-S) is an out-dated model... same price a 1+ year old Samsungs.

There is nothing wrong with the quality or style of the iPhone4... its still a very good looking device. I wouldnt buy it because of its glass back and its a theft-magnet. But apple is a prick company with their law-suit happy business tactics.

Listen if it weren't for the iPhone then smartphones today would suck and clearly we wouldn't be having this 'debate.' Clearly some of you haven't seen or read Samsung's own internal communication (email) shown in court stating Samsung knew they were infringing on Apple's patents. That's what put the nail in the coffin.

Apple's real target is Google for ripping-off its UI all the way down to its Store (environment). Possibly that's going to be the next major litigation, or Apple may pick-off one company at a time. Reminiscent back to the days of Microsoft (Jobs v Gates).

Patents - you wouldn't want a World without them, no one would spend a nickle in R&D. Patents allow for Licensing and if Samsung paid for licensing ditto we wouldn't be having this 'debate.' No patents no, little, or slow innovation.

Hypothetical example imagine your company considered spending a billion coming-up for the cure for (e.g. AIDS, Autism, etc) but you knew day #2 another company would simply copy and sell your same curing (formula) medication -- the cure would never be found because no one would waste a billion in capital.

So rather than snarky remarks with no basis, think about what you're actually saying and put yourself in each companies shoes and in the process gaining some perspective. If you owned Apple you'd protect your profits, if you owned Samsung you'd cheat or steal to make a buck; real World.

Do you want to compare REAL patentable innovations like a cure for AIDS, Cancer or Autism (or the phone!) with rounded corners on buttons and gestures to open or close something ?
Remember, Apple did not invent the phone, the tablet or even the 'windows' style interface and the Apple OS is based on Unix ! Hell, Apple does not even manufacture anything; they rather export the manufacturing jobs to other countries.

If you own an iPhone you support job exports!
Apple, "Made for the USA"

There comes a time and place for patents, but allowing anything and everything to be patented would lower society down to the same level as communism with company monopolies.

Think about it. Allowing a company to even have a patent so silly as 'Round Edges' is just asking for trouble. That's just as moronic as making a patent on 'Round' wheels. Imagine where the progression would have taken us if only 1 company were allowed to produce 'Round' wheels.

imagine ford got patent for the car design .. a vehicle with 4 round wheels.. and 4 doors.. steering wheel for steering.. would you still have called that a reason for slow innovation??.. or better still search engine.. a web interface with a textbox to type in your query and on submission.. displaying results in a tabular format... would you call that patent-able as well?? technology should be protected by patents.. innovation mean creating something new.. not putting together bits and pieces from all over the place and patenting the final mixture.. bounce effects were in flash for long time before iOS came.. so by your definition adobe should probably sue apple for copying.. on that note wondering why aren't they???

Why would you want that though? Thats so out-dated no way it could handle the latest software. Plus support for the phone will practically be non-existent, I really doubt they'll provide an upgrade past 2.3 and I really really doubt build quality will be anywhere as near as what samsung provides. I'd rather spend $20 more for a subsidized s3 and get all the perks it comes with (ignoring the huge hardware differences). Also clones are 99% likely to come from Chine so there goes any chance of a warranty if anything happens to your phone.

[citation][nom]belardo[/nom]Here is an excellent article about the jury who decided that Apple was "wronged" - where they ignored some of the rules and such. They were sloppy, lazy and stupid. http://www.groklaw.net/article.php [...] 2510525390Apple should be legitimately raped by a rectangle-shaped dildo with rounded corners.[/citation]

Wow, that is some sketchy stuff that went out with the verdict.

I think the DoJ needs to investigate Apple and the Jurors for this. Seems like they were working together.
