I bought a fan that plugs in to the charging port, started spinning for a second then stopped. Is there a way to fix it myself? Before this happened, I plugged it into my Samsung S6 phone and it was working fine.

Does any other device work in that Tab's port? If not, you may have shorted it out with that fan for whatever reason. Charging ports on phones and tablets have been known to fail. It did on my Samsung Note 4 phone I had for two years turning it into a $450 (purchase price) paper weight.

I don't really have any other device to plug in it, unless you're talking about plugging a cable in my computer and connect it to my tablet, it doesn't pick up my tablet. I forgot to mention it is not charging either.

So if it is not recognized by the PC and it is not taking a charge, it's a dead port. As said, been there, done that. It happens.
