Question Samsung Gear S3 rotating bezel issue

I recently bought myself a Gear S3 Classic but have started to notice that the watch doesn't respond to the rotating bezel at the exact same spot every time. So every full rotation I end up with 1-3 "clicks" that won't register on the watch, OR they will register as the bezel rotating the opposite way (which it physically isn't).
Does anyone know what might be causing this, is it most likely either a hard- or software issue?

Hardware, but since you just bought it, take it back to Samsung and get a new one under warranty - problem sorted.

I was hoping to fix it myself as I bought it used

Well maybe it needs a lot of cleaning. Find a video that shows you how to take it to pieces.
