Thanks to the gentleman that was so helpful in guiding me and others
through the steps of personal ringtones with the Yamaha software.

I was able to use easy cd creator to do the conversion to wav. then I
used
Audacity. ANy programs better than audacity? that arent too expensive?

I do have a question about sound/volume of the download personal
rigntones. Is it possible to make them louder? would I have to do that
with easy cd creator? any advice anyone can offer is greatly
appreciated. The download is fine but I wish I could make them louder.

I believe Audacity has a "normalize" function. Apply that to your sound
clips, and it should increase the volume to its maximum without
distorting it.

You're most welcome. The volume level is a problem with just about all wav
files I've tried. The solution is to amplify the wave to an above normal
level before you convert it to MMF. As for shareware software, I've found
SoundEdit Pro to be very useful (a bit pricey, but you can try the full
version before you buy for 30 days)

This software has an "Amplify" button/menu option that works great for
preping audio for mmf conversion.
