Hello,
I have just aquired a Samsung GT9000 laptop, everything seems to work but stops at the C: prompt. What do I need to reset it?

Check to see if it has Windows installed.
At your C prompt, enter "DIR C׃\" (without quotes)
If many files and folders scrolls by, be looking for at least one named Program Files
This is not an etched-in-stone method of detecting a Windows installation, only a clue.
If Program Files is present, come back for assistance to repair boot process.
I do not think the computer has Windows installed as you are getting a command prompt, something that doesn't normally exist after Windows is installed unless the drive has the FAT file system, and Windows was installed via the manual "winnt.exe" method (unlikely, but possible).
