This is freaking sweet! Imagine this screen in front of a mirror or something and in a picture frame in your living room, turn on the TV and BAM! Instant TV, turn it off, simple family room :) I can only imagine at this point: a mirror, a kinect and touch screen. Could see this being very beneficial in the medical field.

16*9=144
I think they need to get the total number of linkable displays above 100 for consumer use XD

In all seriousness though, this is a fun idea! Imagine something like this integrated into a bar instead of glass block, playing some sort of video or visualizer that goes along with the music? It would look pretty sweet!

every time is see news like this one, the only thing i can think about is how to use it for a "3 monitor" setup, but wih no bezel...i waiting for that tech to be available for public.

Apple lawyers were probably busy submitting a patent for this technology as you were typing.

Why 16:9? 8:5, 4:3 or even 3:2 would be better than that.

What I think would be particularly neat for the home is that I like my 16:9 for HD, if I could take off the top row and add it to the sides for cinematic widescreen [no or less bars on top and bottom] that'd be really cool. Watching old 4:3? Take a couple columns of and pop them on top.

As far as the math-
For 16:9, you could do 12x7
For 4:3, with two more blocks you can do 10x8
For 2.35:1, 14x6

If each block was an 8" diagonal, then with 84 of these blocks you have a
79" 16x9 TV, a 72" 4:3 TV and an 86" 2.35:1 TV all in one.

16 x 10 would be ok for 40 displays though

Why bother, even if they didn't patent it they will release one anyway then claim they "innovated" before suing Samsung again

[citation][nom]theconsolegamer[/nom]Can someone explain how the fak there's no images when the guy goes behind it?*mind blown*[/citation]
Total internal reflection, the angle you are looking at from the side acts like a mirror, try it on a fish tank and you will see what I mean

How about 4x3 or 8x6 units ? Same ratio.

[citation][nom]thrakazog[/nom]@flycat1989Why do think it's a square display ? Apple owns patent for rectangles =P[/citation]

Lol...true true! But remember car makers patent the grills on their vehicles for the same reason Apple doesnt want everyone to look like their hardware/iOS. Apple didnt invent shapes but tell me the Samsung Chromebox doesnt look like the MAC mini....lol.

It didn't mention how they're "locked" together...I initially envisioned a huge wall of these and the kids playing around...knocking them all over the floor...waiting for me to step on them in the dark.
