I have a Samsung SyncMaster 955 DF DynaFlat 19" monitor. I've had it
for a couple of years--just long enough for the warranty to run
out. :/
The monitor sits on my desk next to my VCR and TV set, and lately I've
noticed it's become severely out of focus in the half closest to the
TV set. My brother opines that this is because the TV set is
unshielded.
I've moved the TV set away, degaussed multiple times, but the out of
focus problem persists...I can use the focus controls to bring it into
focus, but then the other half of the screen goes way out.
Can this be repaired, and if so is it likely to be expensive? Would I
be better off biting the bullet and getting another monitor? If so,
what type of monitor would be best for gaming and watching DVDs, yet
still be economical?
