Samsung monitor sound

There's a sound jack in the back of my monitor and I plug in my headphones.I only hear sound when my ps3 is on but when my computer is on I don't hear anything and I have to plug it in the back of my computer.
Is there a way to fix this , I want to hear sound from the monitor than plug it in the back of my computer?

You need to connect the sound from your PC to your monitor. How does the sound get from your PS3 to the monitor?
