Question Samsung Odyssey G6 32" weird frame issue?

Hey, I bought a Samsung Odyssey G6 32" and had problems with it (dead pixel, goes black for 0.5 seconds, and an issue I don't know what to call it).
I returned it for a replacement, and that replacement also has 2 of the issues (goes black for 0.5 seconds, and an issue I don't know what to call it).
I'm looking to first find out what this issue would be called, and also if anyone knows a fix? Here's 2 clips (1 was recorded on the replacement monitor):

I can tell from the first link (photoshop open with a black image) that the effect happening is actually the windows taskbar being drawn like 50 times down the screen, then the top of photoshop gets drawn about 3/4 of the way down the screen.

Graphics card is an Asus 1080
Windows 10

So again, what would this issue be called, and does anyone know a fix?

I don't know what to call it either. Can you use the exact same cable and system with a different monitor to make sure the monitor is the issue JUST to be sure? And are you using DisplayPort or HDMI?

If you're certain then I think your best bet is to return it again and just get a different monitor. Lots of other 16:9 displays that probably meet your criteria.

It's using the DisplayPort cable that came with the monitor.
My old monitor also used DisplayPort, but it was about 7.5 years old now.

Because of this and the fact my graphics card is also that old (1080), I found out about a NVIDIA DisplayPort firmware updater tool to update older GPU's to include firmware for DisplayPort 1.3 and 1.4.

Upon googling, it seems this monitor comes with "a full DP 1.4 32.4gbs VESA certified cable."
and my old monitor (ROG SWIFT PG278Q) was "DisplayPort 1.2".

I applied the firmware to the GPU and also turned on "VRR Control" in the monitors settings.

I haven't had the issue yet, but it sometimes won't happen for maybe even a day, whereas other times it could happen multiple times an hour (mostly noticed when playing League of Legends, but not exclusively - as seen in photoshop example video).

Would still love to hear any ideas on what the issue might be if this doesn't happen to fix it.

It definitely sounds like a defect to me then, I'd just return the monitor. Even with an older DisplayPort protocol this shouldn't normally happen. The fact it's inconsistent and only happens sometimes tells me it's hardware related. Amazon's return policy is pretty forgiving.

LoL triggering it the worst probably has something to do with the complexity of what's onscreen or at least that's my theory. I've had small monitor hiccups due to bad ports on video cards in the past (DVI-D though) whenever the image moves but never anything close to this severe.

Thanks for the advice.
I'll see if anyone else can help name this issue (so I can google for solutions/causes) or if there's any other ideas about causes.

In the meantime I already did contact the place of purchase to make them aware of the issue and potentially start another RMA.

I love the monitor so I want it to work, but I don't know if I need to RMA it until one works right, or perform some other kind of fix.

I haven't seen the "unnamed" issue happen yet since the displayport firmware, but just now it did the black screen / turning off issue. This one even lasted longer, as if it tried switching to the stupid "built in TV" feature they put in the monitor (would prefer a G7 without it, but I think they're discontinued and I can't source any in the country).

Here's the video of the black screen:

Well... latest updates:
Couple of days ago I installed the DisplayPort firmware to the GPU, updated GPU drivers, Updated Windows 10 and restarted the PC.
The two mornings since when turning on my monitors, it would be black / trying to turn on for like 60 seconds, and then once they turned on it would close certain apps like Discord, and had the error message "nvidia share has stopped working".

Today I started a League of Legends game and once the main game starts loading, it would go black, flicker, then close my Discord, firefox etc, then league would show this error: (Tried this like 5 times, same exact scenario happened each time)

Within those 2 days, nvidia seems to have released another driver so I updated to that one, and league started working fine.

Will wait and see if those initial issues continue, but now I really don't know how to tell if it's a monitor issue or GPU issue.

Any advice or experience appreciated.
