Hello, all.

Ok, last Christmas my parents bought both my brother and I a Samsung P2350 for Christmas. Until a few days ago they have been working fine...

For some reason, my screen randomly turns off when I am in the middle of stuff. It doesn't go into a sleep mode or anything, the monitor completely shuts off. I have been reading about this and apparently a lot of other people have been having this problem as well. My brother is not having the same problem with his screen.

I am not too interested in sending the screen back.... I have read from a couple of people that they sent it in and got it back a few weeks later with scratches on it, but still having the problem.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Am I correct in the assumption that this is mainly for the problem stated at the beginning of the post? If so, this is not my problem...

Sorry, I should have been more clear, my screen will often work fine for several hours, then just randomly turn off, or sometimes half an hour apart.

My P2350 randomly turns ON in the middle of the night... I got sick of turning it off every morning, so I now keep it unplugged. I've seen a lot of complaints about this particular model turning itself off, but I have not seen that yet. I suspect there is a design flaw in the touch control electronics ... (I'll probably have to send it to Samsung for repair...)

Oh, completely forgot about this thread....

I did quite a bit of looking, but couldn't seem to find the answer.... until I saw a genius post by someone suggesting that the OPer change the amount of time the screen allows before turning off. What a novel idea?

Anyway, I searched through the menu settings even more than my quick once-over I had done before. Well, lo and behold, there was a setting called "Off timer." That was it.

Not sure what triggered it... something may have actually gone wrong with the screen, just a simple power setting fixed it for me though.

It's amazing how we overlook the simplest of things, isn't it?

@lowlevel - Sorry, never heard of that issue before...
