i`m not so sure about that....samsung only sells trash in the korean market, and with only hynix to keep them in check(it`s really hard to get corsairs, or micron, kingston...kingmax are available, but pretty expensive), the RAMs in the korean market have a very low potential in overclocking.

maybe samsung is exporting all the good modules abroad, and selling $hit in korea. i got so pissed, that my new PC doesn`t have a single "made in korea" part.(i`m korean, by the way)

if u read korean forums about hardware in korea, getting a corsair is really a dream come true, especially to overclockers. kingmax RAM is ok, i guess, but garantee in korea is pretty bad, while samsung gives u a new one if u buy a bad module.

Be nice.

I thought Samsung were pretty good. All the PC2700 ram in ebuyer.com (UK web retailers) seem to be samsung.

Besides I don't have a bangladesh manufactured parts in my computer, you don't see me complaining.

what i`m trying to say is that foreigners seem to say that samsung RAM is good. koreans disagree.

same thing with CDROM or CDRWs. the export models and the models sold in korea really doesn`t differ that much, but whenever there is a downgrade in the specs, the koreans get the downgraded version first.

i mean big korean company practically rule the korean market. they act as tyrants. i think we need more imported goods.

Be nice.

I have a PC2700 CAS 2.5 Samsung and it really rocks.
Very cheap and it works AT DEFAULT (by SPD) at CAS 2 at 166 MHz.

Friend of mine has a PC shop and never has problems with Samsung RAM, specially that PC 2700 is always doing CAS 2 at 166 MHz (actually he has many of them at 180 Mhz CAS 2)
I can give you the numbers on the memory chip to compare with the ones in Korea. Just let me know.

thx man. i`d like to know, but it really wouldn`t matter, i use a kingmax right now. not so good, but put a little extra voltage in it, then it works much better.

surprised again to see praises about samsung. whenever i go abroad, i`d better buy korean goods. it`s pretty annoying to know that u can`t get good "made in korea" goods in korea.

Be nice.

At least I can get good "Made in Canada" ATi products in Canada, beside the fact that some people don't consider Radeons good products. ;-)

corsair uses the same samsung chips. They are just tested to run at higher speeds where the sammy isn't.

yeah, korea has a major balance of trade issue. many more exports than imports. the U.S. is just the opposite, however. everyone in the U.S. complains that we import too many goods and we are going to become dependent on producers in other countries, but that is a bunch of bull, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with importing more than you export. for example, japan, like korea, exports more goods than they import, yet japan has had on and off recessions for the past 10 years, which is not good. now, the US economy has been very stable (until very recently) even though we import more than we export.

so, for you, the korean consumer, it would be far better to have more imports than exports. that way, you'd have corsair memory flowing in to give that crappy samsung some competition.

if im telling you stuff you already know, sorry.

btw, you live in south korea correct?

I had a stick of Samsung PC2100 some time ago, it would not over clock much at all except bios timings. I replaced it with Crucial PC2100 thinking this will be better and it made no difference whatsoever in over clocking results and both brands were stable and bench tested the same. Samsung and the like are great for a standard systems but you are right about Corsair memory, it is regarded as the best for over clocking and quality, IMO it is at a level equalled by no other brand.

sure, seoul, south korea.

just a few weeks ago, we`ve experianced the madness of world soccer.

u wouldn`t see any north korean guys in the internet, i doubt that anyone than isn`t a member of the communism party wouldn`t be rich enough to afford a PC.

"No. Celeron is bad."
LOL

in just industrial goods, korea exports more than she imports, but considering the whole cash flow, then i`ll say that korea is not making a progress like japan.

korea should get more imported goods, as i was saying. and that is the same to any other country. for an example, korea made mobos a few years before. but since the quality was a bit better compared to taiwanese mobos, they tried to raise prices. no one would buy them, all went to buy mobos from taiwanese makers. importing mobos from taiwan rocked. korean mobo corps couldn`t make any profit, so eventually all of them abandoned the matket. now we have better mobos at a more affordable price.

u guys know that RAM is more expensive in the east, even though most RAM is made there? just doesn`t make sense, even considering the market size(if the market is too small, then to prices go up, no one really would bother to seel oods there, so the left few have monopoly).

"Is Celeron good?"
"No. Celeron is bad."

sorry for the late response.

yeah i was 99.9% sure that you were from south korea...the north is so far behind...
