I recently bought a Samsung S24d590PL monitor and while using it I noticed that the whites and blacks were a bit crushed. I looked into it and read that HDMI black levels might be the reason and setting it to normal solves the issue.

However when I looked up the stting it was greyed out and I have no idea why. I have an R9 290 connected to the monitor via an HDMI cable.
Thank you for the answers.

Tried it just now but it doesn't let me tinker with the settings until I connect a device.

I read through the answers and they weren't really helpful.

Check the URL I posted, it seems to be like it is a compatibility issue, this setting is not compatible with all devices. I read up a little on it and lots of people had issues with it.

I read it but their case shouldn't really apply when using a PC only when using an external media player, should it?

I wish I could help you more, but I really can not think of anything else but try a different source and see if that setting works?

Tried that as well but it sets different settings to different sources, but I'm not getting that setting with other PCs either. It seems like I'm stuck with it like this. Thanks for your time and replies though :)
