This morning my S6 edge was fine and it had about half charge. It was working normally and didn't show any signs of not working. A few hours later i went to use it and it wouldn't wake up. I tried holding down the power button and it did show signs of life and showed the "Samsung Galaxy S6 edge" logo as it normally does when you turn it on but then the screen just goes black and seems dead instead of going to the other start up animations. I tried charging it but instead of seeing the green battery charging icon it is a grey battery with a lightning symbol in it. I have also tried starting it in safe/ recovery mode by pressing power, volume up and home button but with no luck. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

There are some common factors why it happens, one is the fluctuation of electricity in your area, second probably you charge your cp with the power on that cause to overheat and cause to charging failure, three you have a corrupt OS while undergoing charging. So I recommend to bring it in samsung service center and claim your warranty if granted.

The S6 doesn't have removable battery or memory card but i will try without the sim

I tried it but no luck. It could be a charging issue but i still don't understand why it turned off so quickly because it had a good charge this morning and was charging but i came back to it only a couple of hours later which wasn't enough time for the battery to drain and it was dead.

Seems like a lot of people are having the same problem. On another forum someone suggested that you hold the power and volume down button for 10 seconds and it should come back to life, from what I read in the comments it seemed to work for a lot of people

Worked! Thanks! Happened to me three times now, and I just read the above comment. So I held Power and Volume-Down and after exactly 10 seconds and the screen power-icon lit up. Then I was able to finally power up the phone. The phone absolutely does not respond to anything else.
