So I hear that this new QD-OLED is the way to go for getting a TV, and that the Sony version isn't the best for gaming. So what about this brand new Samsung for gaming?:

I should note that I've literally never bought a TV before, only accepted hand-downs (though I did spend a lot of time researching a monitor and that went really well). It seems to me to be a great pick for all kinds of reasons, but no matter how much I look, despite how it's going on sale within the next day or so, I can't seem to find anyone with an early version that has anything to say about input response time (I basically want to see how it ranks, here: https://www.rtings.com/tv/tests/inputs/input-lag )

I'm afraid of this one going out of stock and staying out of stock. So has anyone heard if this thing is actually responsive for gaming, or is it just a pretty picture?

Appreciated; 4k 120 hz is nice but I'm looking for response time. I.e., will it have, within gaming mode, some ludicrously bad 127 ms response time or an amazing 9.1 ms response time? Something like that. I have typically only had cruddy TV's with bad response time and it's made my gaming suffer on TVs as opposed to my monitor. Anyone have any inkling as to where to get that info, or is input lag for TVs like this just not an issue like they used to be?

It's very responsive for gaming, around 9ms. Even if you turn on the motion smoothing interpolation (called game motion plus) it only goes up to 13ms. Can also do 4k 120hz at 4:4:4 with HDR and GSYNC or VRR. I'm loving mine, probably the best gaming display made so far.

Awesome thanks! Though I heard from a dependable source that it does not have g-sync, only free sync - which is fine by me since that's all consoles require and apparently this TV isn't awesome hooked up to a PC anyway (bad with fine text), which I also wouldn't use it for. Unless I'm misinformed?

You're at least partially misinformed. It doesn't have a hardware g-sync module, which I believe is called "g-sync ultimate" now. Very few displays have that and it doesn't make much difference. It DOES support g-sync, which works through the HDMI 2.1 VRR standard. Nvidia hasn't validated it yet, but you can still enable it and it works perfectly. Also, this TV most definitely IS awesome hooked up to a PC, and I haven't had any problem with fine text. There may be some specific circumstances where it doesn't look as good from the subpixel configuration, but I haven't seen it yet.

Man. This is heavily encouraging then thanks! Maybe in the future I'll use it as a monitor for some things too. Now to strategize to get the $ lol
