I have a Samsung SCX-4100 Printer/Scanner combo. Although I am very
satisfied quality wise, I have one "issue" with regards to
performance: It is EXTRTEMELY slow when printing more than one batch
of print jobs.

1. Initiate a print sequence and the process is very fast (starts
printing within a few seconds)

2. Initiate a second print function and it takes 3-4 minutes minimum
before the second batch starts printing.

3. You need to wait 10-15 minutes before you can start another print
job that will be processed very quickly.

I have tried the parallel and the USB ports without any success. I
also tried different computers... no joy!

Any ideas as to why this printer behaves this way?

System: P4-2GHz, 1GB RAM, nVidia GeForce 4 Ti4200 w/128MB video,
Windows XP Home SP2, etc. Parallel port connected to LAN via Ethernet
adaptor. USB port tested directly to computer.

I would be inclined to get the Windows Task Manager (Ctl,Alt,Del)up to
see what the computer is doing this may give you an indication.

I will do that... better yet, I will fire-up Task Info and get a
better idea as to what is working.
