A foldable handheld will only make the console more expensive for nothing. handheld gaming machines should no be expensive. put the money in performance and battery and not on making it smaller when pocketed . you will open it to game anyways,

Until the foldable phones/handheld/w/e become cheap then do this.

Agree. Ever since Samsung demoed a foldable concept over a year ago, I've been trying to think of the best way to fold a handheld. Side to side like this one? Up and down (clamshell) like the GPD Win mini? Really, the portability issues with handhelds is their thickness, not their X & Y dimensions. Making them foldable will only make them thicker- imagine a steamdeck folded in half, now its a cube.

And to reiterate your point, the biggest challenge with handhelds is making them affordable without compromising too much on performance.
