I cant decide between these two monitors wich to buy.

I need a monitor for all purposes, gaming, internet, movies...

I like that SM960BG has rotating function, but it isnt necesary. The only thing i dont like is that it has glossy surface of the screen.

Does someone have that monitor who can tell me is the reflection making problems if the conditions arent ideal?
Does it reflect more than, for example, 931bf?

ThX, and sorry for bad english

In case u havent read my topic about a problem i have with my samsung SM940BF, ill tell u here.

SM940BF and 931BF are practically the same, the monitor is great for everything, i didnt notice any ghosting in games, and i played all kinds on it, from mmorpgs, 3D strategies, and FPS. It performed great. Movie screening is good, i dont have any complaints here, what ever u use it for it will do well.

However ive turned it in yesterday to my local Samsung service, it has a colour problem, the RED isnt red its Bordoux (cherry colour), and once u notice this (my sister didnt, nor did my best firend) it starts to bug you, you start to question every colour thats redish.
Im awaiting a responce from Samsun services, if its a defect ill get a new one, if its normal i get the same one back.
If all these monitors have the same colour problem then it just sux as a model. No matter how good it performes (and it performs great), if u dont see the right colour its iritating, and not worth it.

I read the article here on THG on SM960BF and it got a little bad review, look it up it will help u in your choice.

Geez, EugeneT... you bought a "gamer's monitor" with a TN panel... well known for color fidelity issues. What did you expect?

If color is that important to you, why didn't you get one with an IPS or VA panel?

Hose, i knew about lower colour fidelity, but i expected it to be in diferent shades of the basic colours, not a diferent basic colour, like red is.

Thx

i need lcd for multimedia, and that seems to be bad side of this monitor. Do you know some other sites with review of this monitor?

If it all bad written about this monitor is truth than ill have to decide between SM 931bf and 940b.

ALL monitors with TN panels have color fidelity issues... including these. One possible exception is the new Samsung 931C... you might want to check that one out.

Otherwise, you need to spend your money on a monitor with some type of VA or IPS panel.

For God's Sake NOT SM931BF. This will be waste of money and very big mistake for you! I had one SM930BF which has panel failure and was replaced by SM931BF. Last one is awful as quality, ergonomics, blacklight homogeneity, colors are bad, there is one awful blue LED somewhere behind power button which cause pain into my eyes even if i look at this terrible thing for only ten minutes. If you switch ON this LCD and feed signal it produce some strange noise like working low speed FAN inside, if it is OFF, noise from power supply is still there, but around 13kHz. I don't know what to do with this thing - to throw it, to brake it, or I don't know. "Supplier" doesn't take care of my opinion about this "product". :fou: :pfff: Finally yesterday I succeed somehow to set-up this "thing" to show almost acceptable picture. Problem with LED was solved by disassembling LCD and painting ugly blue LED's with black permanent marker - now they are less visible. Noise is coming from power supply, there is nothing, that can be done in this way to "improve" behavior of this LCD. For me, personally i will avoid to buy any Samsung product from now... :pfff: In fact, SM931BF is NOT Samsung!!! It's some chinese bullshit from Hann Star. Only one Samsung part is one chip with 100pins on main board.... :pfff: Be careful with this "manifacturer", you may get bad surprise...
