Hi all,
I have a PC that is connected to a wireless network and wish to connect my Samsung Smart TV via a crossover cable but am having problems.
The PC is Windows 7, and my TV model is a UE40D5500.
After connecting the two together I thought I was in luck. It looks like the PC can see the TV; The TV is visible in the Network screen as both a "Media Device" and "Other Device". Through the TV, I can see also a Windows network.
When I try and access the Windows Network through the TV, I get the message "Failed to access the device. Please check the device and retry".
I then go and try to connect to the Wired Network through Network Settings. When I try to connect, I get the message:
"IP auto setup failed. Try the following to set up IP automatically, or set up the IP manually by selecting 'IP settings'.
- Ensure that the DHCP server is enabled on the router, and turn the router off and on again.
- Contact your ISP for more information."
DHCP is enabled through my router, so now I'm stuck!
Does anyone know if it is possible to connect my Smart TV this way, and if, please could you help? I must admit that Networking is not my strong point...
Thanks
