Hi everyone,

I've had a Samsung Smart TV for probably about 3 years, and I have the cable modem and router in the cabinet sitting directly under the TV. Everything is wired, and it has worked perfectly this entire time, up until this morning when I tried to start the Netflix app. It complained of "network interference." I didn't have a chance to look at it until later this evening, but it seems that it cannot connect to the internet whatsoever. As far as I am aware, nothing has changed. The only thing I can think of is that the TV's networking capability crapped out. However, here's what I know...

1. It gets an IP address from the router just fine. DNS, Subnet Mask, and Gateway look normal. It gets the information from the router, but it says the internet connection fails.

2. Other devices, both wired and wireless, have working internet connections on the same router. No issues at all with any other devices.

3. I tried connected directly to the cable modem and power-cycling everything. Again, it gets an IP and the rest of the info, but it still says it fails when connected to the internet.

4. I even tried swapping out the ethernet cable, just in case. No different.

5. I also attempted to set the DNS manually, using 8.8.8.8, but that didn't change anything.

This really seems to have happened right out of nowhere. I would appreciate if anyone had any suggestions. My family uses Netflix heavily, so this is a real bummer.

I'm having the same problem with my Samsung smart TV, TV connects to router, but no Internet. I contacted Samsung and they have told me it is a problem there end with there servers, they know about it and are working on it, but don't know when it will be fixed

All smart TV intent traffic goes through their servers and if they are down there is no Internet on your smart TV.

It seems that, to test if the connection is ok, it pings to a server that is broken. So, if I activate the PA access, I can even use the internet though the Smart TV, even if the connection test fails.
So, I guess that it is a samsung server's problem, the address they use to test for the internet connectivity.

Looking elsewhere on these forums, I would say this is happening almost universally yesterday, so it does seem like this is a problem on the Samsung side of things:

Apparently I got the same problem, the same thing happened to me yesterday, I can't connect to web browser.
I tried to reset my router, tried to connect TV via WIFI, tried to set DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, but nothing helped...

This is why I am completely fed up with the samsung updates. I am having the same issues. They usually happen as a result of updates but usually only temporarily - 24 hours max. I think the samsung updates don't take into account how old your model is and they send "upgrades" that are not ready for prime time. They seem very careless and sloppy about it. I took the approach of refusing the updates, but after Samsung blocked my Amazon from functioning was forced to accept. Except this time it's been a few days of no access. Have tried resetting network adapter, resetting cable, nothing so far. Try going into system and upgrading your software. So updating the software "fixes" the problem but then you have to log into all of your apps all over again which is not fun with that stupid remote control keyboard. ugh.

It Worked for me:
