Samsung spinpoint hdd's

Hello,
I unfortunately broke a Samsung f1 1TB Hdd and i recently purchased an almost exact replica except it is an f3 1TB. the reason my old one broke was because it shorted due to the incorrect adapter being placed inside the caddy. Anyhow what i was wondering was if i swapped the control board(green chip) from the f3 to the f1 would it work.
Im trying to retrieve data.i haven't tried in case i make matters worse. Just wondering if anyone else out there has any issue similar to this and tried the same thing?

If you mean by replacing the PCB board on an internal drive from one drive to another, it won't work. That board is an integral part of the drive.

If the drive was an external drive, you could use different enclosure.
