Samsung SSD 840 500G hard drive no longer appearing in bios.

Samsung SSD 840 500G hard drive no longer appearing in bios. I have 2 hard drives, both samsung SSD of different size. Starting this morning the 500g storage drive stopped appearing in bios. When booting the computer with the drive plugged in the boot time is significantly increased.

I attempted power cycling the drive but had no positive results. I don't feel that it is a firmware issue, otherwise the primary SSD would be experiencing the same issue.

Well it may be that the SSD unit is failing, but at this point I would also check the SATA cable. I've had several SATA cables which have poorly molded ends and have split or become loose. It's worth a check, and perhaps try a different cable.

Iv tried a different sata cable as well as a different port and power cable. Iv got a feeling that the drive is dead and needs replaced which isn't making me very happy :/
