I am trying to migrate/clone from my 750GB HDD to a 500 GB 850 EVO SSD.I have cleared all the unwanted files and my HDD currently has about 300GB of data spread across three partitions. When I open up Samsung migration tool, it shows that the C drive is way bigger than what windows explorer shows. Plus, in the tool, if you add all the partitions it's going more than the physical HDD capacity.

Here are the actual sizes

Pictures are worth 1,000 words. Sdreencaps please.
Samsung Data Migration, Disk Management, etc.

What you may see in File Explorer is probably missing a whole bunch of stuff.

Install and run WinDirStat, and run it with 'Run as Administrator'.

So basically it is combining C and F to show C drive capacity. The 471GB occupied space the tool is showing is the result of (what it thinks is the total space of C )585GB - (Correct free space)114GB. In conclusion the tool is combining two partitions.

Is there a tool I can run to rectify it, like should I defrag or run disk cleanup or something like that? If not, I will go to another migration tool like the one you suggested.

I can't think of anything that would change how the Samsung tool works.
