i have a 2 tb hdd hard drive that i am trying to migrate into a 250 gb ssd but still keep the hdd as extra storage. But it says that i need to clear up quite a bit of space and ive gotten down to about 350 gb. Any ideas on how i can get rid of more storage on my 2 tb hdd?

Hey there, JONDLASATER.

Check what's filling up your space. If you have a lot of media files, you could back them up to a different drive in order to slim down the 2TB HDD to less than 250GB so that it can fit on the SSD. You could also uninstall some games if you have any. I'd recommend that you check this article on how to clean up your drive: http://www.howtogeek.com/125923/7-ways-to-free-up-hard-disk-space-on-windows/.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes.

well ive already put all of my media files on another drive. I used windirstat to check what was taking up the most storage of my hard drive, and it seemed to be the users file(taking up 300gb) can i move the users file to another backup drive?

You can move media files like pictures, videos, music, etc. from the Windows User Folders. However I'd recommend that you don't move any other types of files. Basically you should check which programs use the User Folder by default to save content and change the path to another drive so that everything goes automatically to the new location.

What's the Windows version you're currently using?

No, don't move the /Users/ folder. Bad things will happen.

You'll just have to trim some more stuff.
What, exactly, is taking up that space?
