Hi,guys
I just got my first ever SSD and I just finished mounting it to my disk bay.I installed the Samsung Magician software from Samsung's website since I don't have an optical drive and I can't use the disk that comes with it.Everything went as planned until I discovered that for some reason RAPID mode is no more on my system apparently.Took me a good 20 mins to dig up a thread about Samsung apparently excluding AMD chipsets after the 5.0 update.Way to discriminate Samsung...
So my question is..is there a any way for me to go about enabling the feature? Is it ever gonna work like it did before (supposedly)?Or am i stuck with this drive now and I'm going to have to purchase an Intel MOBO and processor replacement just because of Samsung's caprice? Do I even need RAPID mode at all to achieve the advertised speeds ?
My SSD is connected to the SATA 3 port and my primary HDD is SATA 1.I thought that I was using the wrong header and so I switched from SATA 2 to 3 but to no avail. (pics included)

Hey there.

What's your motherboard model? Basically I don't think there's a way for you to enable it if it does not support your chipset. Perhaps if it was supported by a previous version of the software.
Forwards to your next question. RAPID utilizes a part of your memory in order to speed things up in more. However, I'd say that you don't really need it and having in mind you're currently running OS from your SSD, you won't find an enormous difference with RAPID mode on. You should still be able to reach the speeds which are specified for the drive in question.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for your help.I appreciate it.My MOBO is the MSI 970a-g43 if that helps.Been trying to figure out which sata port has the best throughput since I've read that they apparently differ even though all 6 of them are supposedly SATA III 6 Gb/s.I've read that there is 2 different ones including the Intel and Maxwell if I recall correctly.I read that I am supposed to use the Intel ones, but I am having trouble with finding out which one is which since they aren't labeled in the manual as such. The picture I've included above is directly from their manual and it only shows SATA 1 and 2 SATA 3-4 and SATA 5-6.

That's why I wanted to know what's the motherboard model. Some mobos have different sets of SATA ports. However if does seem like this is not the case, so it doesn't really matter which one you'd use as long as it's a SATA III port (6Gb/s) so that you take full advantage of the SSD's performance. From what I can see about your mobo, all 6 of your SATA ports are SATA III.
