Hi all, apologies in advance for posting about an LCD in the CRT section, I'm new here and can't find a more relevant forum section. Anyhow...
I've been having trouble with an old monitor. After about three years of use my Samsung started acting up. The symptoms are when you power the monitor on it retains picture for 1-3 seconds, then blacks out completely. I heard that the most common cause is bad capacitors, so I tore into the monitor and sure enough three of them appeared to be bulging at the tops. I just now replaced the three and re-assembled the monitor but I'm getting the exact same effect. This was my first time soldering so I'm not sure if it was my work or if there's another common culprit I'm not aware of.
Thanks for any help in advance!
