Changing resolutions, signal input and turning it off and on show that the backlight works fine but it only stays on for 2-3 seconds than goes off, screen is still on though.

All inputs do the same, don't see any options software or hardware-wise to change it. Also not exactly sure of model number.

How can you test if the backlight works fine? I have an hp lcd, It will power on for one second, then immediately go dim (almost black) Then turn off. Since the screen turns on (even only for 1 second) is it safe to say the backlight works fine? Could it be the inverter board?

I have a SynMaster P2370HD. I had a similar issue. It wasn't the backlight. It was built up static on the monitor. You know, you press the touch power button so much on the plastic with your fingers - eventually it may build up static.

My screen would turn on and off randomly. Whenever I would try to power on my the monitor it would turn off after 1 to 2 seconds. So, this is what customer support said to do:

Unplug the monitor from the outlet or surge protector. Hold down the monitor's touch power button for about 2 minutes with your finger. Then plug the monitor into a grounded outlet in your wall. Try to see if it works. My monitor doesn't turn off anymore. I use the remote control now, instead of pressing my fingers over the monitor's touch buttons. (the point of these instructions is to get rid of the extra static that's built up on your monitor).

I hope this helps.

Cheers
