I recently purchased a SyncMaster 915N. It came highly recommended on forums that I reviewed (I didn't know about this forum at the time) and Samsung was recommended to me by friends. I don't know if I have a defective monitor or if the quality is just bad. Everything I have read about this monitor from users say it's beautiful. I find that my digital photos taken on a $500 camera look like they were taken on a $5 camera. They are grainy and not sharp on the Samsung yet are beautiful and sharp on two Dell LCDs I used for viewing. I tried playing Sacred this evening and it's grainy; I couldn't even play it. When I play World of Warcraft and I am moving through an area filled with trees, I see lines coming vertically from the upper corners into the middle, almost like lightning, although I can tell it's really that the graphics are being bothered in some way. I am using an ATI Radeon 9800 XT with the latest drivers on a Windows XP Pro with 1 GB memory and DirectX 9c. Even text, such as on this website, looks somewhat blurry and I have ClearType installed. Do I have a defective monitor or was this just a bad choice? Any help would be appreciated.

I would geuss that you've purchased a defective monitor. I would suggest bringing/sending it back and getting a replacement (or a refund). There's no way that should be happening.
