Samsung T200 or VX1962

Hi all,

I am upgrading my 4 years old 17 lcd, I am unable to decide which one to take,

The 20 inch Samsung T200 or the 19 inch ViewSonic VX1962 with speakers.

Both can do 1680x1050, so the pixel pitch is much better with the ViewSonic and the image should be sharper.And both have 3 years warranty and are good brands.

The Samsung is 300$ and the Viewsonic is 200$ on sale and I have to pay 5%+8% tax.

Both have similiar spec except that the VS draws less power and have less DYNAMIC contrast(6000/20000) but both have the same REAL contrast 1000:1

I just found this thread through yahoo search...

I looked at both monitors at Frys and the Samsung displays slightly "blacker blacks", But is $80 more expensive (but a 22" Samsung at $280 vs $200 for the 19" Viewsonic... not a fair price comparison, thoguh). I saw the 19" version (Frys didn't have the 19" in stock) of the Sam' in Circuit City for $260.

I think the Viewsonic has a beautiful picture and other than the darker darks from the Samsung (contrast?) they are quite equal in performance and I think the Viewsonic has better value.
