Samsung T240HD yes?

Hi there,


currently I'm sitting in front of a 17" NovitA screen running 1280x1024. I'm getting tired of wasting hours of time scrolling horizontally and vertically during heavy image/sound editing using e.g. Photoshop and Audition.

Basically, I am looking for a new monitor with a native resolution of 1920x1200. I understand that I'm looking for a 24" monitor, want it to support 1:1 pixel mapping, <6ms response time and holy contrast/brightness ratios.

Help me, for I am lost. Do I need to avoid TN panels? Will the Samsung T240HD do the trick?

I am temporarily using a T240HD mainly because my family watches TV on it and plays console on it. Personally I am fine with it, just a little backlight bleeding, which I don't mind. I watch a lot of videos, play games on it. I used to use 17' as well. It takes awhile to get used to. The problem is I can't stand is 1920x1200 desktop, everything is so small I just can't get used to it. I am currently using 1600x900 it's a lot easier on my eyes. I game with 1920x1200, which is really nice still have to get used to it from 17' res. But yes, T240HD does support 1:1 pixel mapping and native res at 1920x1200.

Most TN panels are cheap and great for gamers, so I would suggest PVA or ISP panels if you are going to do heavy image editing. The only down side is they're quite expensive at 24'. I've compared to an ISP panel before, no challenge. ISP hands down if you are looking for lively colours.

It's out of your requirements but 22' Dell 2209WA is a really nice 22' ISP panel. Other 24' ISP panels are almost $600-700 minimum.
