Question Samsung with 100535704 REV C PCB - fix by replacing PCB

I swapped PCB for exactly same model including revision. Furthermore, I soldered the original BIOS chip. I backed up both old chips through SPI flasher just to be sure.

Now, the drive spins, but it is not detected by USB dock station.,
When I put it in the Windows machine and start it, I get Unknown device with Generic Device Manufacturer (or something like that) and device is not initialized.

Any ideas? I assume I correctly moved the chip and replaced PCB and BIOS chip if it spins, didn't I?

It sounds like the drive has internal problems. What was the failure mode of the original PCB?

I don't really know, it didn't work. What could be the internal issue?

There could be a fault with heads or media.

You need to obtain a diagnostic log from the drive's terminal port. That will tell what is going on internally. To this end you would need to purchase a USB-TTL adaptor.
