And to think that the Seiki 50 inch 4k screen is only $1200... Considering a 1080P 80" Aquos goes for around $4000 or a 90" Aquos for $9000, a 85" 1080P should sit around $6000. Is this screen really worth 6-7 times as much as a 1080P display? I guess people have money to burn...

I think the few people who buys it at $35k are helping samsung showcase their technology. 4k is still a developing technology. Samsung made a tv that makes people drool and now the wait begins till we can all buy one.

hmmm.... 50" UHD is a bit too small to sit across a living room, but that may be a good size for a computer monitor. Maybe 5-10" smaller... and cut $500 off the price?

Time to save my pennies...

Need more details ... is this OLED TV? or just LED lit? I can totally see that price if it is OLED in that size since panels of that size are a challenge to make for now.

And after spending £35,000 and using the TV like a normal person for 1 - 2 years, the TV suddenly turns off and just clicks. Congratulations, you now get to buy a new TV already.

It would be nice to have a high resolution tv of course, but at this time even the Jones's would be kidding them selves.
Are there any movies/tv stations broadcasting at 4k resolutions? no. Broadcasting is having bandwidth issues relaying 1080p playback as it is.
Its a step in the right direction, but until infrastructure is upgraded for demand, it will be a very long time until these kind of tv's will be given their respects.

Am I the only one getting annoyed by how companies are marketing this? 3840 × 2160 being called 4k? "K" meaning thousand... But its 3840 pixels not 4096
