Sandisk card reader not showing...

Hi there
Just finished my new windows pc with win7 installed

Ever think went well except I want to use my card reader but it's not showing on my system.
It makes a noise when you plug/unplug it too :-(

Shows up in device manager too as a generic reader :-(

Worked on my last pc with xp
Memory card works as its from my dji phantom 3

I've tried a new install of win7 and updates but still nothing :-(

Any help would be perfect

Did you plug it into a USB 2 port not a firewire port if the mobo has one?? This can and will fry it if you did

Some people do get the 2 mixed up because both of them have 9 pins on the header
