Question Sandisk flash drive says full, but isn't

I recently bought a Sandisk Ultra 3.0 which has a storage capacity of 57.2 GB. At present, I should have 31 GB of free space according to my properties info. However, tonight I attempted to transfer a file that was only 4GB onto the flash, and I got a pop-up saying that the file was too large. I double-checked, and all the readings are correct.

Also, when I insert the drive, instead of saying "Sandisk" on my computer, it just says USB drive D. I've tried inserting the flash in the other USB port, but the same thing happens.

This is not a generic flash drive. It's the name brand. Why am I unable to put any more files on it when I clearly have plenty of space?

what file system did you use to format?
fat32 only support 4GB max file size

Don't misread the error you got for "drive is full", it's an error that the file is too large not that it's out of space. If you were out of space you will see a different message.

If you want to transfer bigger files, backup your data and format to NTFS, but then you may not be able to see this drive in portable devices.

Use exFat instead.
