If anyone here has the new USB 3.1 version of SanDisk Ultra Fit thumb drive (not the older USB 3.0 model), could you please run benchmarks, preferably with Crystal DiskMark, and post a screenshot? I can't find a useful benchmark with Google. 16 and/or 32GB preferred to the higher capacities.

Here's a composite image of the old and the new versions:

I'm not sure what you mean. If you mean close to the max USB 3.0/3.1 speed, no. No USB flash drive even gets close.

Anyway, I'm asking because, since Western Digital took over SanDisk, they've "upgraded" some popular thumb drive models but actually reduced performance and increased their price.

For example, according to my own measurements, they "upgraded" the Ultra Dual to 3.1 but while the read speed remained about the same, the write speed dropped to roughly one-third that of the 3.0 version.

My own tests of the older USB 3.0 version consistently returned about 130 MB/sec read and 47 MB/sec write. These were reasonably kept up in real-world usage. This was the 16GB unit. I expect the larger capacities to be even faster.

Another change after the WD takeover is that they discontinued their flagship "Extreme USB 3.0" model, replacing it with "Extreme Go USB 3.1" which, according to third-party reports, is also slower than its predecessor. Moreover, it's available only in 64GB or higher capacities. The 64GB version costs more than a 1TB HDD, placing it out of reach for many potential users.

Hey, I was looking for this benchmark too. It was hard to find, then I put model number in Image Search (SDCZ430-064G-G46), and finally it return a benchmark from some japanese site (128GB)
You can see that here:

https://blog.mechanicalman.jp/2018/02/08/sandisk-ultra-fit-usb3-1-128gb-sdcz430-128g-g46-benchmark/

Site is in japanese but easy to understand only by images/model number!

Sorry my bad english!
