I'm sure the engineers behind type-C have thoroughly worked on this question, but exactly how strong, physically, is the type-C connector? It looks so small and *thin* that any kind of bending-moment on a type-C flash drive precariousy sticking out from your computer might deform or break it.

That might just be the appearance, though -- none of us have held one in person

I actually held one at CES, a pre-announcement beta model, and I initially had similar concerns. However, the connector is pretty robust. It is very similar in size to Micro Type-B, so I think there has been enough experience with that for the mfrs to make solid solutions based off experience.
