Again i already have these stuff at my place ready for my build but the big question is what should i get Intel i5 2500k or Ivy bridge version i5 3570K( i believe or it maybe 3550k). I was thinking about waiting for the release date was April 23 or soon after but I also had in mind wait for the the release date of ivy bridge then Im pretty sure i5 2500k will probally go down to maybe 160 or so. (The store i was about to buy i5 2500k was microcenter and they always have there intel cpu cheap there). Also my motherboard is not open so maybe i can exchange it for Asrock z68(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157271) for $121.99 then get the ivy bridge. I need to know now if i am going to get ivy bridge or Sandy bridge. Is there performance going to be so much more than sandy bridge? Also I really dont care about the Intel graphic 4000 I care about the Speed and I dont really care about the watts which I know is 77 Watts while Sandy bridge 95. Also maybe microcenter can sell Ivy bridge for like 200 maybe I dont know. Any ways which should i get?? Please help tell me soon too Thanks

Edit Also i could get Sandy bridge i5 2500k and just wait for haswell CPU line ups. Im thinking about doing this idea but i dont know

As we all know getting a newer technology is always the best option as they provide future proof builds.

In my opinion i would suggest you to go with Ivy Bridge because they will really cause a difference in performance with a quite amount.

I think you will do better with a 2500K from microcenter.

Intel does not reduce their previous gen cpu's for quite some time after it gets replaced.
If you will shop on the used market, then, yes, prices will go down a bit.

Ivy bridge will give you 10% more for your dollar if you get a 3570K, but a $180 microcenter 2500K is a great deal, and will run your graphics card very well. The 2500K will be 20% less than the 3570K.
I don't think there is a 3550K, perhaps you are thinking of the 3570K.

I think you are good with a P67 motherboard since you have a discrete graphics card.

If waiting is not a big issue, you might see Z77 motherboards early. I don't think they bring anything new to the table that is of interest to a gamer, but who knows?

Microcenter have been in stock with that same price of $179.99 for like a long time I think that just always have the Intel CPU cheaper. They even have Intel i7 2600k for $279.99 while it is $319.99 at other stores.

Yes, what I have recommended people doing in this situation is answer three questions.

However when overclocked (because sandy overclocks better) Sandy will perform better and almost match Ivy in a lot of categories. With that being said the reviewers have stated the main differences are found mainly in the z77 boards.

The early OC tests of ivy bridge were done with early engineering samples. I would be very surprised if ivy did not OC very well.

Regardless, it is a moot point. Virtually every 2500K will do 4.0 with a conservative(no voltage change) OC, and that is plenty for any reasonable gaming.

Since you have a April end time frame, ivy might be possible, but I really think you should start shopping for sandy now.

I don't know, I might wanna go wait for the end of April and hopefully Microcenter have a Sale for the new opening on Ivy bridge so they might have Sandy bridge Intel i5 2500k maybe at 160 or 170. If i can save the money I will but I don't know exactly if they are going to lower prices when Ivy bridge releases. Hope I can save 10-20 bucks

Btw Sandy can oc' to 4.5 on about 1.28 or 1.3 ish v depending on the cpu. But yes 1.5 is killer for SB. I am not sure of the clocks of IVY, I would need to do some more digging that I don't have time for atm.

Ya I know I can overclock my i5 2500k to 4.5 but I have like a cheap CPU cooler I dont want to risk anything bad to happen. I have Cooler master hyper 212+
