ok guys skylake is out with the main i7 6700k ,,and by curiosity i was wondering how much gain would it have over the i7 2700k in gaming only.................open for ilumination

yes, agreed. most games will not see a big improvement in average fps over a stock clocked i5 2500k or i7 2700k with the current haswell skus.
One interesting thing about the skylake i5 and i7 K series samples is the stock TDP is 95w. typically we have seen Intel reducing the power and heat output with each new architecture or die shrink*. Intel could be catering toward the enthusiast , overclocker or gamer in that these will overclock like Sandy Bridge,
Maybe, since Intel has put their Tick-Tock release cycle on hold... Speculate here.

*Haswell is rated for a higher TDP than it's predecessor IVy Bridge

sandy bridge is still going very strong. until you see a gaming benchmark with a high end graphics card that shows meaningful fps gain between sandy and skylake then it would be better to stick with what you have. put that money toward a flagship graphics card like the 980ti.

you forgot to mention other similar cards to 980ti, such as R9 Fury, R9 Fury X, R9 295x2

correct, those are all very powerful high end cards as well.

ok from digital foundry bench i saw that sandy can handle a titian x sufficently ...the question is what about pascal,,,i;ve read pascal is x10 better than maxwell
