I'm not sure which item you are referring to .. this list might help
clarify:

Maybe the shell bell? Where you collect shells and salt from the shoal cave
and the old guy in the cave gives you a shell bell?

Or one of the herb items? Mental herb or White herb?

I looked at one of the pokemon list on the net and the guy said that to get one
of the pokemons I needed to breed to Marrils with aherb on the male. did I
spell it wrong?

You'll find that at Mt. Pyre on the fourth floor. I think you have to fall
just right so that you are behind the rocks .. it's been awhile since I
played. Anyway you climb up to the fifth floor and then fall down through a
hole in the floor and the Sea Incense is just a pokeball. Lax Incense is
there too .. it's used for breeding Wobbuffet.

thanks for the information. i rather think the file i downloaded was translated
from japanese as many of the names do not match what the games maps calls them.
