Hello everyone. I am very new to overclocking. I am new to graphics card overclocking, but I think I have found a sweet spot. I know overclocking is never safe, but I want to make sure my overclock looks okay and wont degrade the lifetime of my GPU. I never understood the core voltage the top thing on this program. Is it safe to max out? I was getting artifacts and stuff in Far Cry 4, but increases the core voltage fixed that. I am worried my voltage is too high? I just want someone to please look at this screen shot which is a safe link so don't worry and please tell me does this look good? I can probably raise more core clock and memory clock higher if I raised the core voltage bar to the maximum, but I am worried that it may damage my card. Also temperatures are not a problem, my card never goes past 80 degrees full load. I heard these cards can work in the 90s. Also what is more important to raise. The memory clock or the core clock? Thank you so much for reading. I look forward to reading your replies. :) www.imgur.com/Flp7dB1.png

There is no such thing as a safe overclock, especially with a card such as R9 290X. I really wouldn't trust a dev who says these temps are acceptable simply because he's a vendor, if you burn out your card with temperature and oveclock, then that's warranty void, which is good news for him because you'll need to buy another card.

That being said, whatever criteria might meet a "safe" OC, then that would be the one where you don't need to tamper with voltages, same as with a CPU.

My personal opinion is that its not worth it. You are getting a smooth and solid 1080p gaming experience, anything more is greed for a card of this price range/performance ratio, especially with these temperatures. You are going to get your fingers burnt...
