hii i want to know wish card is stronger in CROSSFIRE in full hd and 4K resolucion

Sapphire Radeon R9 290X VAPOR-X TRI-X OC 8GB GDDR5 2xDVI HDMI DP PCI-E X2

OR

Gigabyte GTX970 G1 GAMING SOC 4GB GDDR5 2xDVI HDMI 3xDP PCI-E X2

Solution
Both are overpowered for HD. At that resolution, it would be difficult to take advantage of the extra RAM of the 290x.
At 4k, performance should be very close. It will probably come down to which architecture a particular game favors. The extra memory of the 290x will start to make a difference (maybe 10%-20%) for some games. You will have to turn down setting some with either for 4k and the different architectures will behave differently.

AMD's crossfire does scale a little better than SLI. While AMD has done a lot to improve their frame-pacing problems, I still don't think their drivers are nearly as easy to use.

I suspect at 4K in Crossfire/SLI things might get very interesting.

And ... a brief note of caution.
In the not-to-distant future the Fiji XT / Bermuda XT (whichever it turns out to be) with 4GB of stacked VRAM ('HBM') is said to have twice the memory bandwidth of 4GB GDDR5 on the 290X.

If anything, it most certainly will drive down the price of the 290X 8GB.

by the time AMD next GPU arrive 290X 8GB will probably getting harder to get. if that's the case then instead of decreasing the price might actually go up
