Sapphire 7870 Black screen fix? Please help

got a 7870 screen goes black and sound starts to buzz i have to restart the pc. ive already flashed the bios to 015.017 bios and it still does it. any tips on how or what causes this everything i read is off topic half the time. any pro's at this please help this card is fast when it works great. also gpuz is only reporting its running at x4 @ 2.0v when i hit the ? stays the same and my motherboard is a msi gaming 970 board both slots run at x16 please help tomshardware fans.....

As said above system specs but without knowing I would say power supply.

600watt evga sli power supply
1tb black wd hdd
msi 970 gaming board

Yes but the radeon cards are more power hungry you may have a bad card how old is it ? It seems sapphire has issue with black screen and bios I have updated my r 290 as well and problem just came back so I guess sapphire is out of the pool for shopping next time around.

PSUs do go bad. Do you have a tester? If not, contact EVGA tech support and see if they can trouble shoot. If still under warranty you may get an RMA.

i have 2 6770's and they run perfect so i dont think its the powersupply when i run furmark at max load it only uses 68watts

anyone know how i can see if there is an error popping up when this happens? so i can see possibly?

Maybe you have solved your question you can run 2 6770 on that PSU and the 7870 crashed maybe its the card might be something to look into it seems you have had issues with it before this since you updated the bios.

i updated it cause alot of people are having this issue and some have fixed it. thats why im asking is there a way to find out what error is causing this with a program or something to fix this cause i paid almost 240 for this card when i came out

i wish it was bud. honestly. i took it apart re did thermal paste with some diamond paste lowerd the temps about 15c seems like this black screen only happens random. just like i do not understand why in the world the card shows x4@2.0v i dont notice any bottleneck but after 4 diff programs showing that its running at that maybe thats the culperate at this. and sorry about my typing skills i play games way to much and have gotten to me
